  • How much do braces cost?

The cost of your braces is determined by what kind of braces you need and the length of treatment. The basics of your treatment plan will be discussed at the first exam appointment. SMILE! is fee-for-service (pay as you go). Different types of appointments are priced accordingly. Full payment is required at the time of service. We will inform you of the cost of your next visit, when you schedule your appointment.
  • How can I reduce the cost of my braces with community service?

SMILE! is willing to adjust up to 50% of your fee for the work you or a family member performs as a volunteer for an approved non-profit organization. Vouchers signed by a representative of the non-profit, are worth $10 for each hour of community service.
  • What constitutes an approved non-profit organization?

Central Oregon has a variety of volunteer opportunities. Two great resources are and If your organization is not listed with either of these groups you must get Dr. Panchura's approval. If you are getting paid for your work, it is not volunteering.
  • Can I volunteer at my church?

Activities sponsored by the church that serve the greater community are eligible. Please ask if you are unsure whether or not an activity meets the criteria.
  • I have been volunteering for some time now. Can I count those hours toward my treatment?

You can begin to count hours from the time of the initial exam, or from the time we indicate that the patient is ready for treatment. Previous volunteer work will not count toward treatment.
  • How do I pay for appointments?

You will know in advance how much each appointment will cost. For example, if your visit is $200 and you do not want to participate in community service, you pay $200 cash. You could also pay $100 cash and 10 hours of volunteer work. Another example would be to pay $150 and 5 hours. Keep in mind that the vouchers may not exceed 50% of the cost of each visit. Volunteer hours must be done before each visit. If you have volunteered more than you need for a visit, those hours can be "banked" you have on file.
  • Do you accept credit cards or checks?
